Hello Readers!
My name is Mehmet Yilmaz, and I’m a passionate software developer from Denver, Colorado, with roots in Turkish heritage. I have always been an avid learner and builder, dedicating my time and energy to exploring new technologies and trying to create impactful projects.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the Colorado School of Mines. Since and before my graduation in 2022, I have immersed myself in the tech industry, working on diverse projects ranging from robotics, AI, and web development. I genuinely enjoy the process of turning ideas into tangible tools and solutions.
Currently, I am working at eBay as a Software Engineer, where I contribute to the Storage Management System (STMS) project, enhancing its capabilities to process over 1.5 million metrics per minute across multiple data centers. My responsibilities include developing microservices, managing containerized deployments, and contributing to infrastructure decisions, such as migrating all internal services from using MongoDB to Postgres.
Previously, I served as an Engineering Intern at Anarchy (YC W23) and as a Research Assistant at the Human-Centered Robotics Lab at the Colorado School of Mines. I also had the opportunity to work at Namasté Solar and National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) at the start of my career.
My enthusiasm for building extends to my side projects, where I continually challenge myself to learn and create. You can explore all my work on my projects page or visit my GitHub page. For a view of my most notable projects, see my CV (at the bottom). Feel free to further explore my works by navigating through this website, and you can also check out my Resume.
I created this website to not only document and archive my journey but also to serve as a resource for anyone going through their builder’s journey. I hope my experiences and projects can inspire and assist you in your learning and building endeavors.
If you have any questions or just want to connect, feel free to reach out by email or through the site’s contact form.
Happy Reading & Building!
